§ 78-169. Discontinued service.

  • No water service connection shall be installed or maintained by the city unless the customer is in compliance with the requirements of the Cross Connection Control Manual adopted in this article and this article. If a backflow prevention device does not exist on a parcel of property receiving water service from the city on the effective date of the ordinance from which this article derives or if such device is not installed or, if installed, is not tested every 12 months and maintained continuously or if an unprotected cross connection exists on a premises, a ten-day notice of noncompliance shall be given to the customer prior to discontinuing service. Thereafter, service to the noticed customer shall be discontinued if the premises are not in compliance with the manual and this article. In an emergency, no notice shall be required and service may be discontinued immediately.
